It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Posted on November 20th, 2006 in General, On Faith

So I was able to spend a few minutes troubleshooting my light strings on Saturday. Seems Christmas lights do not like to be strung together in groups large than three. How was I supposed to know that connecting eight strings of lights together would blow a fuse in the light string and make my house look like all janky?

Anyway, with the help of a few skilled set of 9 year old and 10 year old hands, the two older daughters and I eventually rectified the situation and stabilized the onset of Christmas with a height defying, acrobatic feat of daring that few Christmas’ have ever seen. And we did it without injury or dirtying our good clothes.

Of course, while we were out braving the elements, braving the height of the cold morning air, my wife was slaving away over a hot stove to put a meal fit for a light hanging army on the table to replenish the nutrients lost in the light string battle. And I must say, that was one killer breakfast. I might just be inclined to hang more lights next weekend.
