Happy Anniversary

The data was June 3, 1995. It was a Saturday and my then fiancee and I had decided to go get married. We actually had decided this on the previous Wednesday and told all of our family on Thursday. Needless to say, the family was not all that thrilled. But hey, we were kids and wanted to sleep together, and marriage seemed the only reasonable solution.

Okay, no really. We did want to get married (I had propsed to her on Christmas of 1994) so that was something we knew was going to happen. But circumstances in our life led us to a point where we actually got married a little sooner than we would have normally wanted to so that way we could morally live our lives together. That said, we jaunted off to Reno Nevada (not knowing then that the capitol of Nevada is Carson City [way to Annah!]) and decided to get hitched. That was the best mistake of our lives.

We have been married, as of today, for 12 years. Not all of those years were hunky dory, living in lala land kinda good. But we managed to get through them. My wife is my champion and cheerleader. I hope that I can be her strength and her rock. Together we make an unbeatable team. I think that is why we manageg to make it for so long.

I would hope that today, if you are married, that you would take a second to tell your spouse how much he/she means to you and how much you love him/her. Marriages today are under tremendous attack and there is nothing more important or as precious as the marriage bond.

Go find your spouse, and love on your spouse as big as you possibly can today.
