Hashing sensitive data

Posted on June 9th, 2007 in PHP, Web Development

A colleague of mine, Luke Visinoni, has written an article entited “Hash functions - Protecting your users from themself” in which he discusses the benefits of, and reasoning behind, hashing a users sensitive information when developing web applications.

If you are a new developer (in any language) or may ever run across the need to build a user authentication application, you should read this article. It is not a how-to so to speak, but it is very informative.
