Party time Dora
Having more than one child always presents some form of challenge to would be do-well parents. Having multiple children with the same birthday makes the challenges all the more interesting.
For our family this is a real challenge. Our second daughter Rebekah and our fourth daughter Alaynah were both born on July 9. Since they are six years different in age we really have no choice, at this point, but to have separate parties for them. With Rebekah turning the big 1-0 this year and Alaynah turning 4, the differences in the types of parties are extremely apparent. For example:
Alaynah's party:
- A Dora the Explorer bounce house
- A Dora the Explorer cake
- Finger foods and drinks for kids
Rebekah's party:
- A sleep over with three close friends
- A taco stand dinner engagement
- A cupcake cake
- Horseback riding for the flock of friends staying over
As you can see, we cannot have these parties together. So we didn't. Today was a Dora the Explorer, scream til you drop, bounce around the bounce house day for us. Alaynah enjoyed every minute of it. And so did we, seeing the look of joy and happiness on her face throughout the entire day.
