Horses are cool
Today was kinda neat. As part of my daughter Rebekah's birthday celebration she decided she wanted to take her posse of friends on a horseback riding experience. Nevermind the cost, the experience is where the joy stems from.
So we spent the afternoon riding horses. Well, the girls that were old enough rode horses. I contended with a young son, a youngest daughter and a six year old that could have rode, but we didn't know she could have rode, so she split time with my oldest daughter Sarah.
The girls loved it. They were taught the commands to move a horse forward, to stop a horse, to turn it right and left and the reverse a horse. Then they galloped for a little while in one direction around the covered stable. About half way through our hour, they girls were told to turn their horses and gallop in the opposite direction.
All in all, Rebekah had a great birthday (barring a little episode early this morning in which she, her older sister, her next younger sister and a friend of hers had an emotional melt down at 1:30). And Sandi and I had a good time giving it to her. But now I am birthdayed out. And I am ready for a nap.
