Hating Wells Fargo a little less
Last week I tried to close two back accounts at Wells Fargo and was told that I had to pay $17 to do it. Normally that would not be that big of an issue except for the fact that I did not have $17 dollars on me (I had $8) and that I had never, not once, used those accounts.
So today I decided to return to WF to pay them the other $9 that I somehow owed them for the use of their account number and was pleasantly surprised. The manager of the bank helped me close the checking account and at the same time refunded me the $8 that was in it. That was nice of him.
And it meant that I only had to pay $1 more to close the savings since they kept the $8 and added my newer $1 to it to make $9 to close the account. Thanks Wells Fargo, that makes a world of difference. Now I only had to pay $9 to have a worthless, unused set of accounts.
See? There is still good in some companies.
