Sometimes having connections is a good thing.
The company I left almost a year ago still allows me to keep in contact with them from time to time. And from time to time I whine at them that I need something and they help me. Such was the case today.
My boss needs a truck for his son. His son leaves for college in a few months and he wants him to be able to go in a new Tacoma pickup. Well, wouldn’t you know it, my old company sells those. Nice.
So today I was able to get out of work at about 2:15 to meet my boss near home to look at a truck that he might be buying for his son. Yes, things are always better when you get off of work early.
