Sundays are so beautiful

Given the nature of our day (and night) yesterday, it almost goes without saying that we did not get up in time for the early Sunday morning service at church. No biggie, when life hands you lemons...

Or in this case blueberries. I decided that since I woke up just late enough for early service that I would make every effort I could to feed my family breakfast and make it to late service. And I did that.

I made a flock of blueberry pancakes this morning. Complete with blueberry syrup and whipped cream and fresh blueberries on the side. It made for a somewhat more rushed morning than normal, but the way that worship has gone at church recently, I don't mind missing the music so much anymore (does anyone else spot a potential future post here?).

After church, on our way home, we had to run a few errands which put us at getting home right about 3:00 PM. So I decided it was time to barbecue up the remaining sleeve of burger patties that was in the freezer and have us a Sunday afternoon grill fest. Which was a fantastic idea up until the part where I found out that the sleeve of burger patties that I thought was 20 patties big was really four patties big. Oh well, trip number 2 to the grocery store today.

And lucky for me I went, because I was able to grab these crazy Disney hamburger patties that are shaped like Mickey's head. The kids really enjoyed those. And I really enjoyed the Montreal Steak seasoned swiss and sautéed mushroom burgers, yes burgers, that I had. Mmmmm.

After dinner we watched 'March of the Penguins', a new flick we picked up from Netflix (does anyone spot another potential post here?). That movie is a riot. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Plus, given my love for Linux and all things Tux, that movie was like my Rocky. Awesome.

Anyway, it was a great day today. It seems a shame to have to end it in such an abrupt way as a Monday, doesn't it?
