Simply amazing

Last night my six year old, Adriannah, showed me something that to me was almost unbelievable.

She sat down at the piano and played a song. Ok, this in itself is not the most amazing thing in the world. But what was so amazing is that she played a song she had no sheet music too. Yup, she played a song by ear. Well, not the entire song, but essentially the main rhythm of the song.

She was listening to a song called Shine by the Newsboys and she decided she would sit down a try to play it. About 5 minutes later she had it. How cool is that? I am still learning that impossible isn't, not with children.

It is more than TGIF. It is "Holy Crap I Am So Glad It's Friday". Of course, this week flew by us, but that never takes the joy of Friday away from me. I am thinking of something to do tomorrow with the kids. Sandi needs time to herself around the house so I am taking the family minus mom out for the day.

I was thinking Tilden Park in Berkeley again, but we have already been there once. We have been to the Oakland Zoo already too. I might head south into San Jose and see if there is anything to do down there as well. We went to Gilroy last week, so we are probably not going to go that south.

Or I may head up toward Concord and see what is up there and maybe show the kids where daddy handles his business. We'll see.

No matter what we do it will all be good. Mom will be rid of us for almost an entire day and we get to do something fun. How cool is that?

  1. BTW. I love the new layout.

  2. I change a lot. I like to keep it fresh. In fact, I am gleaning a lot from the designs I like the most and will be completing a theme that I think is going to blow the lid of the Wordpress Theme world. If I could only get jQuery to work like Prototype and Script.aculo.us.
