I suppose everyone at one time or another has to experience the carptastic funk of a Black Friday. For those unfamiliar with that term, it is used to describe the day after Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a day that many retailers gauge their Christmas season sales forecasts with and it is a day in which the true spirit of Christmas comes out.
People cussing at other people, sneaking in lines, cutting folks off, telling them they’re number one with the wrong finger… all of the stuff you would expect from drunken gangsters at an Oakland Raiders game all wrapped in the guise of Christmas shopping. And I was out in it yesterday.
Not really because I wanted to be. But there was something that I really want to try to get my hands on for one of my daughters. I didn’t leave early like the other idgets. No, I waited until about 10:00 AM. But still, that was not nearly enough time to let all those sale chasers clog up the streets of Fremont.
Anyway, I am totally jaded to Christmas from a gift giving point of view. Today just made that worse. I love Christmas, but I really detest anything that has to do with Christmas that involves gift giving.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a great buy.
