It’s beginning to stink a lot like Christmas

Yesterday I spent a bulk of my day preparing our house to impress anyone that passes by with our awesome display of Christmas lights and decorations.

Ok, not really. I hung the icicle lights from the roof, put out our Merry Christmas and took down several of the decorations that go in the house. My wife prepared the planter areas outside of our garage and under the front window. In all, it took about three hours (with Sandi being sick and the kids wanting to play more than they wanted to work, three hours wasn't all that bad).

The one difference this year is that, for the first time in my life, I get to have all blue light strings around my house. That is more awesome that I can out into words. I mean, the house is all blue. It feels so December-in-Wisconsinishly cold that it adds a feeling of winter to my house. I am so stoked.

Merry Christmas

And today we plan on putting out the tree and the other inside the house decorations. Hopefully that will go over a little better than yesterday. Generally when the kids see the tree... our little, fake, but very realistic looking, $30 Walmart tree... they begin to realize how close Christmas is and they get really into getting the tree ready for all the presents they think they are going to get.

Anyway, for now, all I really want to say to you is...
Merry Christmas
