How to wear out a Saturday

It seems that time is something of a commodity as of late, and today that was more evident than it has been in a long time.

But before that I should get into last night. Last night the kids stayed at Grandma and Poppa's house. So we had the house to ourselves. What does that mean? That means that I had a chance to make dinner for my wife.

I actually grilled some steaks for us. But that is not all. I also bought some smoked sausage which I also grilled and I sauteed some mushrooms to go along with them. I bought some bread, some pasta salad, and some veggies to make a huge green salad. And I opened a bottle of the 2004 Roth Cabernet that I mentioned a few days ago.

Then I made the table smaller, cleared it off, turned down the lights and lit a candle and my wife and I had a nice candlelight dinner right at home. Then we proceeded to sit on the couch and watch TV until late in the evening.

With that, I can say that I was very tired to start the day off. All of last night's activities were done after I had gotten home from work so my day yesterday was very, very long.

Today though was really nice. I woke up, slowly, and tried to figure out where to go to breakfast. After a little bit, and since we were heading to San Ramon anyway to hit up Whole Foods, I decided that we would go to Katy's Korner on San Ramon Valley Boulevard, just South of Crow Canyon Road.

I loved the meal, the atmosphere and the service. The wait time wasn't too bad either. I am very glad we hit this place up. If you are ever in San Ramon and want a great breakfast, stop at Katy's Korner.

After breakfast we went to Whole Foods where we laid down some savage cash for Easter treats for the kids. We have begun a new diet that is based on all natural foods. Most of the current Easter candy does not fit into the category of all natural, so we have to make amends for that. Hence the trip to Whole Foods.

And the trip to Walmart, after which we came home and Sandi began assembling Easter Baskets.

I know there was a lot more to this day that just that, but it all happened so fast that it is really a blur. Plus I am still very tired. But it was a good day. And I am now greatly looking forward to Easter tomorrow.
