In my constant zest for becoming a better PHP professional I am currently enrolled in a PHP Architect training course that prepares folks for taking the Zend Certification Exam. I am doing this for a few reasons, the most meaningful of which is that I desperately want to be certified.
I have wanted for a while to put something onto my resume that has some community recognized meaning. I know this sounds a little shallow at first, but really it is the same as people that go to college and graduate and tout their diploma as a meaningful assessment of their ability to complete their coursework.
I want to be able to say, along with me being a pretty damn good PHP programmer, that I am known by the PHP Company (Zend) as being of a level suitable for recognition within the PHP community. Is that arrogant?
It seems that all people strive for something in their lives. We all want to be the best at what we do. Whether you are an athlete, parent, professional or student, we all strive for excellence and recognition. I am no different.
Getting back on subject, I just wanted to say that I am actually enjoying this class quite a bit. It is informative, it has already proven to me that I do not know everything about PHP and has actually made me think about PHP in ways that I have not had to think in a while. So I would recommend this class to anyone that wants to hone their finer knowledge bits about PHP.
