Social or socialistic?

An Obama democracy

I found this little tidbit on Angela Steven's Domestic Divapalooza blog. It would be funny if it weren't so true. I wonder if that day when we awake to communism is going to be within the next four years?

I pray it isn't so. But given the rise to fame of Obamasiah and his apparent inability to do anything wrong in the eyes of mainstream liberal citizens, it would appear that whatever he says, goes. And every day, through the social web, print, radio and television, we are bombarded with messages of his awesomeness, messages of hope and change, messages of past administration failures that he inherited but is going to do something about. Messages that are conveyed without opposition, without question and with a complete reliance on this man to bring about the restoration and change that will save our country.

He used the media to generate an extraordinary following. His message was everywhere your eyes and ears were and his followers were primarily youth who glommed on to his message and hung onto every word. His supporters would hold rallies and have meetings and he would deliver wonderful speeches. His promise was for change and stability and financial success and his victory was sweeping.

After being elected in a major win, and once in office, he took a firm and bold stance and immediately implemented sweeping changes similar to what he promised as he campaigned. But soon things took a different turn and before long the Hitler regime was implementing nationalization and socialism throughout Germany.

Wait, you were thinking I was talking about Obama?

  1. You always have to take it to the extremes.

I think that Obama is not the answer to everything, but he gives the United States hope of getting out of this depression we are sliding into. I’m not a very political person, what I know about politics I could fit in a thimble and still have some room.

However, I am behind our president, and think Americans should be, too. To compare him to Hitler? Oh, come on. Seriously? *Gina rolls eyes*

Oh, and by the way.. :D

  2. True, I do. But what would be the fun in taking everything he says and does at face value? ;)

For the record I do not compare Obama to Hitler as a leader. I compare his tactics for campaigning and some of his earliest political decisions to that of a socialist, most noticeably, Hitler. Whether Obama proves to be a megalomaniacal dictator is yet to be seen, but for a guy that has all of four years in major elected office, who still has controversy surrounding his actual place of birth and who is known to have won his first elect by getting all of his competitors legally removed form the ballot, not to mention the manner in which he won over the largest portion of his “followers”, I would say the similarities are frightening.

You are right. He is not the answer to everything. No man is. And Obama is really no different than George Bush except for Obama seems to believe that government is the answer to all things for everyone AND that the wealthiest people in the country should be taxed as heavily as possible so that the government can continue to use their money to fund government “solutions”. All thing considered, however, he is just a politician trying to make his people happy.

I cannot say that I support him or that I am even behind him. I can say, and I have said, that I do want the man to succeed. Our country is depending on his success. So I don’t wish failure on him. But I really take issue with a lot of the things he has done and is promising to do still yet.

Of course, this is America, the land of the free, so he is free to do what he thinks is right, I am free to complain about it and we are free to disagree on matter of politics. :D

  3. I agree with you Robert. Why even bother to work in what is supposed to be a capitalist, free enterprise economy when you have to work twice as hard to pay for things (or people) you have no say in? Not to say it hasn’t been this way with other presidents, however, the amount of power in regulating people’s lives and money this President seems to be after is frightening.

  4. First, I want to compliment you on a really great blog. I have been reading your posts and find you to be a person with great insight. You have a lot to offer with your perspectives. I am glad I stumbled upon your blog.

I wanted to comment on your posts regarding President Obama. I so agree with you. I am so afraid for this country right now. I feel like I can see things about this man that so many others can’t see. It is kind of like living in the “Twilight Zone.” I am sometimes afraid to openly speak about it for fear I will be looked at as a kook.

As a Christian, I couldn’t understand why Christians supported Obama. There is so much he supports that I can’t support as a Christian. Then I did some research and learned about “Social Justice.” Now I believe in helping people but I believe it should be done because we desire to do it and not because we are forced. God gave us free will and by helping another person because we choose to, I believe that is what pleases the Lord. I also believe He wants us to work as long as we are capable.

I am in my mid 50′s and married to a man who understands how the economy works. He has a major in finance and has worked in both banking and mortgage lending. I am also proud to say he didn’t do sub prime loans. He didn’t believe in hurting people to make a buck. He treated people the way he would want to be treated.

My husband has taught me a lot about how the economy works. I can just see the destruction it is going through with the government taking over so many entities. It’s a power grab. Our free market is just being gutted and I believe it is on purpose. I think it is my understanding of how the system works that enables me to see beyond the rhetoric.

Your post about the beginning of the Hitler regime makes complete and total sense to me. I have even done some reading about Hitler and the German people just wanting to understand how such a thing could happen. I feel there is more than one reason for an atrocity like this to gain a foot hold and achieve momentum. One is not understanding how capitalism and the free market works as well as seeing all the wealthy as evil. As my husband has said, ” Have you ever gotten a job from a poor man?” It is the man with money who risks that money to open a business. Because of his money, effort and hard work building a business, he is able to create a job for someone else. Capitalism is a good thing, you just have to understand how it works. It is sad that more people don’t.

In conclusion, I want to add some information about the person they call, ‘The White Rose.” She lived in Germany during the rise of Hitler. She was a college student studying to be a doctor. There was a small group of students who saw through Hitler and tried to get the word out as best they could. Of course, they lacked the information media we are so fortunate to have in our era. They did there best trying to distribute pamphlets. The White Rose was part of that movement. By the time she was caught, along with some of the other students, they had managed to inform quite a few people. Hitler’s movement was too strong to be stopped but the impact of those students must have been great. Hitler had them executed and even today in Germany their graves are visited and their memories celebrated for what they did.

I would like to pass along a website for you to check out. It is called, ” American Thinker.” If you don’t already know about it, it is a site where you can write articles and have them published on that site for others to read. I like the way you express yourself and thought you might consider writing an article.

Thanks for allowing me to share your blog.

    God Bless!
