My Insanity weight loss progress through May 8, 2010
Excitement and happiness doesn't even come close to describing how I feel today. After my eighth week of Insanity I have lost a total of 34 pounds. Starting at 289.5 pounds on March 15, 2010 I am now 255.5 pounds as of today.
My goal was to be at 255.0 today, but I am so stoked to be at 255.5 that I am really not that buggered by that half pound. I am really just plain excited for hitting my goal. I have one more goal left for this first Insanity program: 250.0 pounds by next Saturday. I know I can hit it.
Heck, as excited as I have been all day I may just run circles around my neighborhood until Saturday.

Insanity: Day 55 – Max Interval Sports Training
Today marks the end of our eighth week of our journey to complete Insanity. I'm kinda excited about that, and a little sad by it at the same time. On the one hand I am greatly looking forward to taking a break from the body pounding I am taking right now. On the other hand, I am getting more and more motivated by my success and really want to push through for as long as I can to get the most out of this program that I can.
Today was supposed to be Core Cardio and Balance. But the program does allow for substitution exercises if you have the upgraded Insanity package, which I do. So Rebekah and I decided we were going to do Max Interval Sports Training instead. And was that ever a good decision.
Max Interval Sports training is about 55 minutes long and has the funnest collection of exercises I have done so far in Insanity. The warm up is a little light compared to the other warm ups we do, but it is filled with fun exercises that move at a pretty decent pace.
The program itself is made up of four circuits from five different sports: Boxing, Football, Basketball, Track and Gymnastics. Each circuit has different exercises but all of the circuits target your core, your legs and your chest. However they do it in different ways that are fun and challenging without being murderous. At the end of it I almost wanted to run it back again because of how much fun it was.
If you are doing the Insanity program and happen to have the package that comes with Max Interval Sports Training, I would highly recommend you take advantage of the ability to swap routines as soon as you can (which I think happens at the end of week seven). Seriously, you will not have as much fun in Insanity as you will doing Max Interval Sports Training. And you will continue to push the boundaries of fitness and weight loss.
This morning, after doing this routine, I was a shocking four pounds lighter than when I started. I lose pounds in every workout I do on Insanity, but I have never lost that much in one workout ever on the Insanity program. I think that is a testament to how effective this program is and how powerful it is, especially when you enjoy the routine you are doing. Which is something that I plan to work on a lot more for my last week.
If I can make it fun to do then I am sure I will reap extraordinary results from that. So dig deep, find the fun in your fitness routines and push as hard as you can. You'll be glad you did as you look at the scale and watch it plummet or look in the mirror and watch yourself get smaller.
My Diet for May 7, 2010

Today was a very good day for my diet. Except for me eating way few calories than I should have. Breakfast was simply two bowls of cereal. I ate shredded wheat, unsweetened, which filled me up and held me over for the entire morning. I think the combination of fiber and protein did really well to give me a great morning of being satisfied. Also, it has no sodium and no sugar, so for me it is pretty much the perfect food.
Lunch was leftover whole wheat pasta from the other day. It was good then, it was just as good today.
Dinner was shredded chicken tacos. I only ate four instead of my usual six because I really didn't feel that hungry tonight. In the end it was the best decision because I didn't feel overly full but well satisfied. Plus the calories were low, the fiber and protein were good and it still had enough fat to make me feel full for the night.
